Calvin Hui

Calvin Hui is the Founder and Artistic Director of 3812 Contemporary Art Projects Company. Calvin¡¦s passion as a collector of Asian contemporary art led to the creation of 3812 which provided a sound platform for his aspiration to further promote the development of Asian contemporary art. Residing in one of the largest art spaces in Hong Kong, 3812 curates and hosts a series of regular exhibitions to bring stimulating new contemporary art to Hong Kong audiences.

Calvin was recognised by the Hong Kong Arts Centre in 2009 when he was appointed to the Board of Governors; a regular visitor to art exhibitions in various cities within Asia andaround the world has allowed him to develop excellent relations with both artists and galleries; his reputation for understanding the art market in Hong Kong and Mainland China saw him invited to become a contributor for some of Hong Kong¡¦s leading art and mainstream publications withfeatured articles appearing in the Hong Kong Economic Journal, Hong Kong¡¦s leading financial and business newspaper.

In recognition of his presence in contemporary art, Calvin has been interviewed by different media from time to time such as Hong Kong Tatler, Phoenix TV, CNBC, amongst others.

In 2011, Calvin was delighted to join Fine Art Asia to become a Partner and Director; this growth was a natural development of his principled understanding of contemporary art and has allowed him to share this diverse knowledge with the development of contemporary art at the fair; applying his expertise and enthusiasm to this area will greatly enhance the contemporary art expansion for Fine Art Asia.
